World Record Appreciation Society

We're building URDB because we love world records. To that effect, we've just founded a New York City-based group called the World Record Appreciation Society. This group will meet on a monthly basis to set and document new world records. If successful, we're looking to take it on the road next year.

If you live in New York, we're hosting our first event tomorrow night. Details below. Please come join us. Email me if you want to set a record. Good times and dope rhymes guaranteed. Dan

The World Record Appreciation Society is proud to be throwing its inaugural event. Members will be invited to get onstage and set whatever world record they dream of owning. Most Bananas Fit Inside A Pair Of Pants? Fastest Harmonica Rendition Of 'Beat It'? Lowest Limbo While Singing A Whitney Houston Song? As long as your record is quantifiable, breakable and legal, it's welcome on our stage.

All records will be shot on video and added to the Universal Record Database, a new site for world records created by event organizers Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson. If you'd like to guarantee yourself stage time, please email Dan (dan@urdb.org) ahead of time and let him know what record you plan to attempt.

Currently on the lineup:

"Largest Group Of People Shaving Off One Man's Beard" (Corey Henderson)

"Most Sips Out Of Strangers' Drinks In A Row" (Jake Bronstein)

"Most Pencils Sharpened With Manual Pencil Sharpener In One Minute" (Emily Wilson)

"Fastest Time Shaving Off Mustache" (Dan Rollman)

"Most Pictures Of Fish Sandwiches Looked At In One Minute" (Todd Lamb)
